For a guy who's been on the streets since he was six, Bolin turned out remarkably well: he's kind-hearted, almost eternally upbeat, as well-adjusted as any teenager can get, and -- coolest of all -- a pro-earthbender playing packed stadiums with the Fire Ferrets. A decent chunk of that is because of his older brother looking out for him, but, y'know, Bolin is a pretty awesome dude all on his own, too.

(And modest, of course. Never forget modest.)

Pretty soon, things will get even cooler when he meets the current incarnation of the Avatar...and a whole lot more interesting, in the Chinese curse sense of the word.



Bolin's sixteen years old, a little on the short side (5'7"-ish), but broad-shouldered and solidly built. Some of that comes from genetics -- he's got a fair amount of Earth Kingdom blood in him, as the dark hair and unnaturally bright green eyes can attest -- and some of it is from rigorous training as a pro-bending player. Usually, he wears a gray-green tunic, brown pants rolled up to the knee, and a green sash; his pro-bending uniform looks more like something out of American Gladiators. Sometimes he's accompanied by his pet fire ferret, Pabu: think of a red panda with a sleeker, ferret-like body, and you'll have a good idea what Pabu looks like.

He's also an earthbender, i.e. a person able to manipulate earth and rock telekinetically. While his style is much lighter and quicker than traditional earthbending (the better to suit play in a pro-bending arena), if your character has any experience with the Hung Gar style of kung fu, seeing him bend will probably look familiar.
